Wari exists to break open the white cube. We create shows that reimagine spaces where art can be shared and experienced. We work with curators and artists- experienced and emerging- in imaginative and collaborative ways.
Wari Art, in partnership with CM Art Advisory is delighted to announce Cartographies of Pigment – International Artists Reimagining London, an exhibition bringing together five international artists whose practices transform pigment, texture, and material into vibrant visual geographies. Staged during Frieze Week, the show positions pigment as a radical expression of identity and belonging—reclaiming London’s muted palette and re-situating the city within the lived realities of global migration.

Each artist weaves fragments of memory, displacement, and cultural hybridity into luminous cartographies of place, mapping the city through pigment rather than boundaries. Located just minutes from the British Museum- an institution long associated with framing cultural identities through collected artefacts- Terraforming asserts a contemporary counterpoint. Where the museum reflects on the past, this exhibition situates London’s present: a pluralistic, multicultural city shaped by artistic migration, even as political rhetoric turns increasingly hostile to difference.
The exhibit opens on 16th October for the public till the 19th October—with private viewings on the 16 October. The artists, part of Wari X CM Art Advisory Selects inaugural cohort are showing evocative work that demands to be witnessed. It is a part of our programming that operates in six-month cycles, offering tailored support to emerging talents as they navigate the evolving landscape of the art world.
As Selects, each artist will benefit from a tailored six-month program that includes press features, curated exhibitions, studio visits, collector introductions, personalized mentorship, and ongoing visibility across our expansive network.
Together, their works transform London’s famed greyness into a resonant landscape of colour—where cultural identities overlap, collide, and ultimately enliven the city’s fabric.
Titled after the apartment’s online listing, this show seeks to challenge the notion of home through contemporary art, highlighting the commodification of the domestic and its impact on social and economic networks, as well as themes of displacement and the search for belonging.
